Bakırköyspor

Bakirköyspor is a Turkish football club from the city of İstanbul. The club colors are green and black. The matches will be played in Şenlikköy Stadium, where 8000 spectators. The club played in the 1980s and 1990s, a total of three seasons in the Süper Lig and is located in the eternal table on the 51st place. History

Foundation

It was founded in 1949 as Bakırkoy sports club. In addition to football, the club still maintained the departments basketball, volleyball and tennis.

Entry into professional football

After the summer of 1980, the Turkish professional football had been reduced from three to only two professional leagues, 1984, on directive of the then President Turgut Ozal, the third highest professional football league, the 3rd Lig, with its present name TFF 2 Lig reintroduced. In addition, it was announced that one could apply for a league participation after meeting certain requirements and conditions. In order to advance the city's development, several Stadtnotabeln tried it, to meet the requirements. For a free surface has been temporarily converted into a football stadium. After allowing the conditions fulfilled, the Turkish Football Federation confirmed participation. So Bakirköyspor participated in the season 1984/85 of the reintroduction of third Lig. As early as the first season, the club reached the championship of the third Lig and rose for the first time in club history in the second highest Turkish league, then called the second Lig on.
