Balish Glacier

The Balish Glacier is a glacier about 33 km long in the West Antarctic Heritage Range. It flows from the northern side of the Søholt peaks between the Webers Peaks and the Dunbar Ridge through to the north. Finally, where he meets northeast of the Springer Peak on the Splettstößer Glacier.

The glacier was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the compilation of Ellsworthgebirges in the years 1961-1966 through site surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy. He was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names by Commander Daniel Balish, executive officer of Navy Squadron VX- 6 during Operation Deep Freeze 1965 and Commanding Officer during Operation Deep Freeze 1967.
