Barbara Kwiatkowska-Lass

Let Barbara ( born June 1, 1940 in Patrowo at Gostynin; † 6 March 1995 Baldham, Bavaria; civil Barbara ( Basia ) Kwiatkowska ) was a Polish film actress who has filmed in Poland, France, Italy and Germany.

Life

She visited in Warsaw Ballet School and won an audition at age 17. She was then given the title role in the thriller Eva wants to sleep. After this initial success, she perceived several connection offers and went in 1960 to Paris, where she received the stage name " Barbara ceasing". Let's played in the film by 1970 the pastor of St. Paul to the side of Curd Jürgens a major role, otherwise essentially supporting roles, but this is partly under very notable directors such as Margarethe von Trotta, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Andrzej Munk, Roman Polanski and Peter Lilienthal.

She was the first wife of film director Roman Polanski ( the marriage was divorced in 1962 ) and the third wife of Karl Heinz Böhm, whose daughter Katharina Böhm (born 1964 ) is also an actress. This marriage was divorced in 1980. From 1980 until her death she was married to Leszek Żądło. The Polish woman worked for the Solidarity trade union movement, partly underground. Let Barbara died on 6 March 1995 of a cerebral hemorrhage.
