Barnitz (river)

BW

Template: Infobox River / BILD_fehlt

Course

It rises in the eastern Stormarn just south of stumps near the peasantry Eichede - Krühe. In the field of stumps opens up a creek and Großboden she takes the water of two other streams on. Mostly fluent in a northwesterly direction, it is then crossed by the A1, happens after Pölitz and flows directly south of Bad Oldesloe the best.

The name of the river is westslawischer origin and literally means as much as birch Au, indicating a lined with birch river valley. A connection with the place Barnitz is not least due to the proximity conceivable, but not proven.

Others

It is believed today that the Barnitz is a section of the 810 set limit Saxoniae.
