Barry Cowan (tennis)

Barry Cowan ( born August 24, 1974 in Southport ) is a former British tennis player from England.

Career

Cowan won on the second-rate Challenger Tour in his career, two Challenger titles, including one each in singles and in doubles. On the ATP Tour, he was in 2001 in Chennai in the final, but lost on the side of Moses Navarre against the Zimbabweans Byron and Wayne Black. At Grand Slam tournaments in 2001 and 2002 he could be reached the second round in singles at Wimbledon, in 1999 he succeeded in double the knockout phase.

He took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000. He went to both the individual as well as in doubles. In individual he met in the opening round of the Canadian Daniel Nestor, whom he defeated with 7:5, 1:6, 4:6.
