The Bassari, also called Onyan, is the language of a West African ethnic group - is spoken - whose territory is located on the border between Senegal and Guinea.

The Bassari is also basari, tenda basari, Biyan, onëyan, onian, ayan and where called.

Speaker

The language is sometimes referred to as tenda is used by about 17,910 people, mainly in the region of Koundara, Youkounkoun and Kédougou, but also by some emigrated Bassaris in the urban centers of Dakar, Tambacounda and Conakry.
