Batňovice

Batňovice ( German Batnowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers south-east of Trutnov and belongs to Okres Trutnov.

Geography

Batňovice is located south of the mountain hawk in the Hertiner furrow ( Rtyňská Brázda ). The village stretches along the river Rtyňka in the estuary of the rivers Markoušovický Potok, Potok Jestřebí and Petrovický creek. To the north lies the pond Batňovický fishpond. Southwest raises the Varta (436 m) and to the east of the Čertův Kopec (410 m).

Neighboring towns are Velké Svatoňovice in the north, and Jestřebec Malé Svatoňovice in the northeast, and Strážkovice Odolov in the east, Rtyně v Podkrkonoší and Krákorka the southeast, podhradí, popluží and Sychrov in the south, the west and Úpice Suchovršice and Kvíčala in the northwest.

History

After written by Eduard Pelhřimovský Chronicle Úpice Batňovice to have been founded in 1009 by the Knights Bartholomew Svatoň. This statement is, however, not supported by any references. The first mention of the village in 1361; demonstrated in a document it is since 1408th From 1471 the village belonged to the rule Náchod. Until 1516 Batňovice was part of the castle district castle meadow and came to the destruction of the castle just to rule Náchod.

1794 had 255 inhabitants Batňovice and consisted of 42 houses. In Zálesí lived at the same time 72 people in eleven houses. After the abolition of patrimonial Batňovice was in 1848 for the independent municipality with the districts Kvíčala and Zálesí. By 1850, the village belonged to the rule Náchod. 1877, the number of inhabitants of Batňovice had grown to 790, were added yet 178 in Zálesí.

Attractions

  • The Church of St. Bartholomew in Zálesí is proven since 1367 as a wooden construction. 1681 and 1867 it was renewed.
