Bauffremont
Bauffremont is an aristocratic family of the French nobility, which is first attested in the late 11th century.
History
Dating back to the place Beaufremont in today's Haute Vosges, but settled because of relationships to the house Vergy in Burgundy, where Pierre de Bauffremont 1448 an illegitimate daughter of Duke Philip the Good married. 1527, the family acquired by marriage the property of the family Vienne- Listenois.
1757 the surviving sons of Louis de Bauffremont († 1755) Louis, Charles, Roger and Joseph François were raised to the imperial princes. 1787 Charles Roger addition to the French Duke appointed by Bauffremont, which was repeated in 1817 for his nephew Alexandre Emmanuel.
