Geography

Between Mücheln in the Geisel and Freyburg an der Unstrut is on the Querfurter plate about 200 m above sea level, the former small (6.69 km ²) rural community Baumersroda. The Querfurter drive is one of the largest loess and black earth sites in Saxony -Anhalt. Until 1990 Baumersroda was with his people, as well as other communities in the region, mainly dominated by agriculture. 1 July 2009 Baumersroda was a district of the neighboring community Gleina on the basis of a territorial change agreement.

History

At the end of the 11th century or early 12th century, the settlement may have begun to Baumersroda. The steeple of Baumersroda is a monument of the 12th century. From 1828 to 1945 the family of Helldorff has marked the life in and around Baumersroda. The family of Helldorff (Elisabeth of Helldorff, née von Bülow, and son Christoph Heinrich ) left before departure of the Americans from Baumersroda the place and their family home in the west. Mayor

Oswaldbauer was from 1935 to 1941 the village community Schulze in Baumersroda. From 1941 to 1946 Hugo lump was mayor of the municipality.

The last local elections under an East German government ended the tenure of Kurt Engler. 1990 Bernd Wölflein was elected from among the members of the council to the mayor. Joachim Bölke in 1994 Bernd Wölflein replaced as mayor of the municipality Baumersroda. 2001 to 31 December 2002 Bernd Wölflein was once mayor of the municipality and has the honor resigned in 2002 for health reasons. The term of office of Peter Rabenstein ended because of the incorporation to Gleina based on a field amendment agreement of 19 November 2008, approved on February 4, 2009 between the Municipality and the former rural community Gleina Baumersroda on 30 June 2009.

Structures

Baumersroda has to attractions except the 12th- century church tower, a landmark, a water tower, which was built around 1906 in connection with a central water supply for Baumersroda, as well as a former manor house, whose last owner, the family of Helldorff, 1945, prior to victorious powers of World War 2 took refuge in the western part of Germany.
