Bayonet Point is a census -designated place in Pasco County in the U.S. state of Florida with 23,467 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Bayonet Point is located approximately 45 km west of Dade City and about 60 km northwest of Tampa. The CDP is crossed by U.S. Highway 19 and Florida State Road 52.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 23,467 inhabitants distributed to 13,091 households. The population density was 1618.4 inh. / Km ². 92.3 % of the population were white, 1.9% African American, 0.3% Native American and 1.2% Asian Americans. 2.0% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.3% in different ethnic groups. 9.0 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 48.3 % of all households lived in 22.5 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 57.9 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.17 persons and the average family size was 2.75 persons.

20.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 19.5% were 20-39 years old, 23.5% were 40-59 years old and 36.8 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 49 years. 47.0 % of the population were male and 53.0 % female.

The average annual income was $ 31,822, while 14.3 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 93.36 % of the population spoke Spanish 2.36% and 4.28 % had a different mother tongue.

Economy

A significant industry, there is not. The main employment sectors are: education, health and social services: (22.2% ), trade / retail ( 17.6 %), Arts, entertainment, food, restaurants ( 10.0%).

Parks and sports facilities

There is a small supply of various city parks as well as several sports facilities and playing fields and facilities for camping and barbecues. Sports options are all that is feasible on the beach.
