Bazavluk River

Catchment area of ​​the Dnieper and the course of Basawluk

The Basawluk ( Russian and Ukrainian Базавлук ) is a right tributary of the Dnieper River with a length of 158 km. It drains a catchment area of 4,200 km ² and has a gradient of 0.61 m / km.

Course

The river rises in the east of Dneprhochlands southeast of the village Kosodub (Ukrainian Козодуб [ Note 1 ] ) in Rajon Krynytschky, then flows through the western part of the Ukrainian Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and flows south to the village of Ordzhonikidze Leninske in the dammed reservoir to Kachowkaer Dnepr.

Tributaries

The major tributary of the Basawluk are 88 km long Kamianka (Ukrainian Кам'янка [ Note 2 ] ), which in Ust- Kamenka ( Усть - Каменка ) opens from the right in the Basawluk and the 56 km Solona (Ukrainian Солона [NB. 3] ).

History

In the river at Kapuliwka was in the years 1593-1638 the Sich Basawluk the Zaporozhian Cossacks.
