BC Avtodor Saratov

Awtodor Saratov (Russian Автодор Саратов ) is a basketball club from Russia. He plays at the time (2012 /13) in the Super League Russia.

History

The club was founded in the early 1960s as Spartak. Later renamed in Awtodoroschnik Satarov was. Only in 1990 the team reached the summit in the highest league of the USSR. Right next to the first staging of the Russian championship Awtodoroschnik occupied the third place. Two years later, even the second place is reached. In the 1990s Awtodor is the only team in Russia, which manages CSKA to defy. In the years 1997 and 1998 Awtodor won, as the team was called since 1996, even the regular season of the National Championship, but was defeated CSKA in the play-offs. Since the 1992/93 season Saratov was 12 years included continuously in various European cup competitions. The first notable success was reaching the third round in Korać Cup 1992/93 and 1995 /96 apply. After Awtodor in the season 1997/98 in the FIBA Eurocup reached the semifinals, started the team in the season 1998/99, even within the European Champions Cup. She managed not to survive the group stage. Because of the problems with the financing of the team and because of the private conflicts with the then Governor of Satarov, the longtime president ( since 1982) Vladimir Rodionov decided to move the team to St. Petersburg. The entire crew and the license have been transferred to Dynamo St. Petersburg. This club only existed for three years and won at this time under David leaf as the FIBA Eurocup coach. Awtodor Saratov B was the beginning of the 2004/05 season in the Russian league system in the Super League classified. After only one year, the club rose from voluntarily in the Supreme League B ( 4th class). In the 2008 /09 season Awtodor again played in the Super League B and winning this. On promotion to the Super League A ( now 2nd class ) but was omitted due to lack of funding. This was followed by three more years in the Supreme League ( 3rd class ). With the change of governor in Saratov in 2012, the question of financing the club was reorganized. In the 2012/13 season Awtodor met in the Super League A.
