BEA Systems, Inc. is a 1995 founded American software company headquartered in San Jose ( California).

Since 1995, BEA Systems is a worldwide provider of infrastructure software. The company name was created from the first letters of the name of the BEA 's Bill Coleman, Ed Scott and Alfred Chuang. Alfred Chuang is now chairman and CEO. BEA has an annual turnover of over one billion U.S. dollars, has 77 offices in 37 countries and employs more than 4,000 people worldwide. BEA is profitable in a row for more than 25 business quarters and has 15,000 customers.

On 12 October 2007, the software giant Oracle has made a takeover bid in the amount of 6.66 billion U.S. dollars. The offer of $ 17 per BEA share was 21 percent above the closing price from the day before the announcement.

On January 16, 2008 BEA agreed to the acquisition by Oracle for $ 8.5 billion to U.S.. On 29 April 2008, the acquisition of BEA by Oracle was completed.

Products

The solutions of BEA Systems include, among others, the application server, BEA WebLogic Server, the transaction monitor Tuxedo, the Java Virtual Machine JRockit and BEA AquaLogic product family.

BEA AquaLogic provides an interoperable infrastructure and a set of reusable infrastructure services for the management of SOAs and for the compilation of composite applications available - regardless of the underlying technologies. The product family makes services that are built on any platform, such as Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5. NET, SAP, Oracle, Sybase or IBM operational by establishing a connection skeletal (backbone ) between services and a common service infrastructure uses. Thus, experts can create specific business processes and data security policies and configure composite applications to ongoing services without requiring new code must be developed.
