Beatrice of Falkenburg

Beatrix of Falkenburg (* 1253, † October 17, 1277 ) was the third wife of the Roman-German King Richard of Cornwall.

Beatrix was the daughter of Dietrich von Falkenburg (Dutch Valkenburg ) and thus the Archbishop of Cologne, Engelbert II of Falkenburg, of the claims of Richard of Cornwall supported in the interregnum niece. On June 16, 1269 Beatrix was in Kaiserslautern with Richard of Cornwall, whose first two wives had died, married. Beatrix was only 16 years old; her husband older by 44 years. The marriage lasted only briefly, since her husband died three years after the wedding. The couple had no children. Beatrix died five years after her husband. She was only 23 years old and was buried in the Friars Minor church in Oxford.
