Bednárec

Bednárec ( formerly Velky Czech Bednárec, also Český Bednárec; German Great Bern resin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic with 110 inhabitants. It is located nine kilometers north-east of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Bednárec is located in a hillside on the left side of the Žirovnice in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Referred to as Kopec Oberndorf offers wide views to the Bohemian Forest and Novohradské mountains. South-east rises the 592 m high Myslivna. Through the village the railway lines Veseli nad lead Lužnicí - Jihlava and Jarošov nad Nežárkou - Batelov.

Neighboring towns are Hostějeves and Pejdlova Rosička in the north, Kamenný Malíkov and Bednáreček in the northeast, Česká Olešná in the east, Nová Olešná and Mutyněves the southeast, Oldřiš and Matejovec in the south, Jarošov nad Nežárkou the southwest, Hlubokodol in the west and Lovětín and Nekrasín in the northwest.

History

First mentioned was that the Lords of Hradec associated village in 1377 in connection with Konrad von Bednárec. In the resort was at the time a wooden festivals that Mikuláš of Binharec 1395 bought. Bednárec formed at that time a center of the Waldenses.

1585 was an outbreak of plague, the 50 residents fell within three weeks to the victim. 1693 broke out a plague of locusts.

On August 29, 1887 before the official opening on November 3, rolled out the first train of Veseli nad Lužnicí to Jihlava through the town. In the census of 1921 323 people lived in the village. 1945, there were 249 Bednárec was incorporated into Jarošov nad Nežárkou on January 1, 1975 and forms since December 6, 1990 again an independent municipality.

  • St. Mary's Chapel at the village square, in the 1795 -built chapel was located until 1965 the Pieta of Bednárec from the beginning of the 16th century. The wooden artwork can now be seen on permanent loan Vltavou in the South Bohemian Aleš gallery on Hluboká nad.
