Bedouin Soundclash
Bedouin Soundclash is a Canadian band formed in 2001 in Toronto, Ontario. Their music style is a mix of reggae, rock, soul and ska.
Band History
Jay Malinowski, Eon Sinclair and Pat Pengelly met during their time at Queen 's University in Kingston, Ontario know. 2001, they released their first album, Root Fire. There also worked with the djembe player Brett Dunlop.
Their second album, Sounding a Mosaic, which came on the market in 2004, was produced by Bad Brains bassist Darryl Jenifer. The first single, When the Night Feels My Song was her breakthrough in Canada. After they landed in the CFNY -FM charts in the first place, more and more other Canadian radio stations played the song in the summer of 2005.
The name " Bedouin Soundclash " comes from the eponymous album of the artist Raz Mesinai.
In the summer of 2005 they played on the Warped Tour. In addition, Sounding a Mosaic took first place in the BBC 6 Music charts and number 24 of the official singles charts in the UK.
During her tour in 2006 they played with Ben Harper, Damian Marley, The Skatalites and Burning Spear.
When the Night Feels My Song was also the song for a T- Mobile commercial in Canada and the UK. 12:59 Lullaby was the theme music of a Grey's Anatomy episode.
Their third album Street Gospels was published on 21 August 2007.
In January 2009, drummer Pat Pengelly left the band. In February 2010, Sekou Lumumba was introduced as the new drummer. The fourth studio album Light the Horizon was released on 28 September 2010 their self- founded label Pirates Blend Records.
