Beinheim

Leg home is a municipality with 1857 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the canton Seltz in the department of Bas -Rhin in Alsace region of France. She is a member of the Communauté de communes de la plaine de la Sauer et du Seltzbach.

Geography

The place is located in the Rhine Valley on the border to Germany, the Rhine forms the border. Border crossing point gives the D 87, which branches off in the middle of the village from the D 468.

Leg home has its own train station SNCF and local industrial tracks. A lake is connected to the north- north-east of the Rhine.

History

The village was called Badanandovilla 745, 773 Bainenheim, 884 Beininheim and 1787 Neubeinheim. In her story, she was plagued by barbarian lords and during the Second World War by the German occupying forces, as were pressured by fighting many houses on fire.

These include the hospitality industry, bakeries, confectioners, butchers, supermarkets, banks, a post office, pharmacy, industrial agriculture, construction companies, ceramic works, carpentry, joinery, steel mills, printing, mechanical engineering and metallurgy.

Attractions

  • The house of the Baron Schramm (* 1760, † 1826) houses the Communauté des Communes.
  • Next door is the Napoleonic garden Schramm.
  • The Church of Sainte- Croix, dated to the year 1760, contains a Gothic choir and a baroque mansion. 1792 an organ of Stiehr was purchased, installed in 1815 and completely renovated in 2002.
  • The Chapel of Saint -Vit is dated 1352. It was destroyed and rebuilt in 1806 in the same year. She is very respected by tourists.
  • The bridge over the Rhine with riveted steel struts in the neo-Renaissance style. It was destroyed twice during the Second World War and rebuilt. The architectural style is, however, over the entire length of the bridge is not uniform, because the construction of the nearby Iffezheim emerged in the 1970s on the German side, an additional strut frame construction made of steel about the new navigation channel.
