Belleview is a city in Marion County in the U.S. state of Florida with 4,492 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Belleview is located approximately 15 km south of Ocala. Orlando is about 90 km, 130 km Tampa and Jacksonville, about 160 km away.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 4,492 inhabitants distributed to 2,324 households. The population density was 955.7 inh. / Km ². 86.8 % of the population were white, 6.1% African American, 0.5% Native American and 1.1% Asian Americans. 3.0% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.3% in different ethnic groups. 13.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 35.0 % of all households lived in 28.3 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 60.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.32 persons and the average family size is 2.89 people.

24.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.6% were 20-39 years old, 25.1% were 40-59 years old and 25.5 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 41 years. 47.2 % of the population were male and 52.8 % female.

The average annual income was $ 24,618, while 28.7 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 90.62 % of the population spoke Spanish 7.85% and 1.53 % had a different mother tongue.

Economy

A significant industry, there is not. The main employment sectors are: education, health and social services: ( 19.1%), trade / retail ( 17.5 % ), construction ( 13.0 %).

Clinics

The city itself has no clinic. For medical treatments that render an ambulatory or inpatient stay is necessary, the residents need to visit one of the nearby hospitals: The " Munroe Regional Medical Center" in Ocala, about 15 km away, the " Villages Regional Hospital " in The Villages, about 20 km removed, and the " Leesburg Regional Medical Center" in Leesburg, about 34 km away.

Traffic

Belle View is from the U.S. Highways 27, 301 and 441 ( SR 500 ) and the Florida State Road 35 crosses. The nearest airport is the Ocala International Airport ( around 25 km north-west ).

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 485 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the high range. There were seven rapes, six robberies, eight injuries, 85 burglaries, 145 thefts and five car thefts.
