Bello, Aragon

Bello is a municipality in the Spanish province of Teruel, part of the autonomous region of Aragon. It is located in the west of the comarca ( county ) Jiloca and is located about 80 km north of the provincial capital of Teruel, 20 km west of the highway A-23, Autovia de Mudejar.

History

In 1248 King James I of Aragon Bello granted independence from Daroca and the place then became part of " Sesma del Campo Gallocanta " in the " Comunidad de Aldeas de Daroca ", which was dissolved in 1838.

In the time of the Civil War there was a Bellos north airfield. This was first used during the Battle of Teruel in winter 1937/1938 of the Italian Aviazione Legionaria as a base and also parts of the German Condor Legion used the square at the beginning of Aragon offensive a short time.
