Bénabar

Bénabar ( born June 16, 1969 in Thiais; actually Bruno Nicolini ) is a French singer. His stage name is a syllable by twisting ( Verlan ) formed shape of the nickname " Barnabas ", which he had received from his friend and former stage companion Patchol in joint appearances.

Life

Bénabar grew up as the son of a librarian and a director on set in a Parisian suburb. After the Baccalauréat and a stay in the United States, he trained as a photographer and did an internship as an assistant director, during which he made ​​his first short film.

In May 2004, Bénabar one son. In 2007, he supported Ségolène Royal in the presidential campaign.
