Benedetto Coda was a predominantly active in Rimini painter. His background and education is unknown. According to Vasari, he was a pupil of Giovanni Bellini. It is therefore predominantly believed that he could have come from Venice. Its got images that are mainly located in Pesaro, Rimini and Ravenna, however, show only a few typical Venetian elements and are actually the art of Francesco Francia close, so that more of an influence by this is to be assumed. Also Umbrian influences are conceivable. In 1531 he was awarded, along with his son also active as a painter Bartolomeo Coda, the order for which Domenico church in Cesena, a Madonna with God the Father and the Holy James, Christopher and Catherine to paint. The image can be no longer detected.
