Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra

The Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Berlin ( PKB) is a nonprofit organization that has emerged from the Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2002. It is dedicated to the interpretation of classical music. Artistic Director of the German conductor Michael Zukernik.

The PKB collaborated with artists such as Guy Braunstein, Emmanuel Pahud, Wenzel Fuchs, Anna Prohaska, Michael Barenboim, Evelina Dobraceva, Christian Oldenburg, Andreas Conrad, Andrey Baranov and Monteton. The concerts are held, among others, at the Berlin Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and at the French Dome Berlin and the Berlin Cathedral. In Switzerland it is the Tonhalle Zurich, Victoria Hall Geneva and the culture Casino Bern.

Since 2003, the PKB organized every year national and international master classes for orchestra conductors. The instructors are world-renowned conductors such as Jorma Panula, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Leif Segerstam, Gustav Meier, Janos Fürst, Eri Klas, Michail Jurowski, Rolf Reuter and Colin Metters. At the master classes students from all over the world take part. The courses are held in various European cities including Moscow, St. Petersburg and Berlin. The upcoming master class is planned for 2014 in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
