Bernard Ayglerius

Bernhard Ayglerius (* 13th century in Lyon, † April 4, 1282 in Monte Cassino ) was an abbot at the Benedictine monks, and theological writer.

Bernhard, since 1256 abbot of the monastery of Lérins, on the Ile Saint- Honorat, was appointed by Urban IV in 1263 to the abbot and reformer of Monte Cassino. He wrote a commentary on the Rule of St. Benedict monachorum and a Speculum, a treatise on the correct behavior of monks. From his tenure register its records have been preserved.
