Bernard C. Schoenfeld

Bernard C. Schoenfeld (born 17 August 1907 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, † April 25, 1990 in Guadalajara, Mexico) was an American screenwriter who was nominated once for an Oscar for best original screenplay.

Life

Schoenfeld initially wrote the templates for stage works on Broadway such as together with Noel Pierce Shooting Star (1937 ) or the comedy Hitch Your Wagon (1937 ).

He began his career as a screenwriter in the Hollywood film industry in 1944 at the staged by Robert Siodmak film noir You, Man ( Phantom Lady ), in which Franchot Tone, Ella Raines and Alan Curtis played the lead roles. He wrote in 1975 with the scripts and templates to 33 films and television series.

At the Academy Awards in 1951, he was nominated along with Virginia Kellogg for an Oscar for best original screenplay for the film directed by John Cromwell drama Women's Prison ( Caged, 1950) with Eleanor Parker, Agnes Moorehead and Hope Emerson.
