Family

Bernard of Poitiers was married to Bilichildis, daughter of Rorico, Count of Maine, and Bilichildis. The couple had at least two children:

  • Bernard of Gothia
  • Emenon which 878 participated in the rebellion his brother and 879 as this was excommunicated.

It is not clear who were the parents of Bernard. Dill Michel Ange sees his brother Emenon ( and thus probably also Bernhard ), the son of Dietrich II, Count of Autun, or his brother Adalhelm ( Alleaume ), which would assign him the Gellones. In Schwennicke Will Bernard of Gothia grandson Adalhelms (which here is an uncle of Dietrich II ) are reported which, given Bilichilde as a mother and as Rorico maternal grandfather enforces that Adalhelm the paternal grandfather.
