Bernard Maciejowski

Bernard Maciejowski (* 1548 in Malopolska, Poland, † January 19, 1608 in Kraków ) was a cardinal, Archbishop of Gniezno and Primate of Poland.

Life

Bernard Maciejowski was ordained a priest in 1586 and appointed on June 8, 1587 as Bishop of Luck. The consecration was held by the Archbishop of Gniezno Stanisław Karnkowski on January 24, 1588. On May 23 In 1600 he was appointed Bishop of Krakow. On June 9, 1604, he was created Cardinal by Pope Clement VIII to and installed on January 7, 1605 as a cardinal priest in San Giovanni a Porta Latina. On July 31, 1606, he became Archbishop of Gniezno and Primate of Poland.
