Bernie Ecclestone
Bernard Charles " Bernie " Ecclestone (born 28 October 1930 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England) is a British automobile sports official, entrepreneur and CEO of Formula 1 SLEC Holding ( Formula One Group ). According to Forbes list of his assets estimated at around three billion euros.
Life
Bernie Ecclestone was born into a working class family on October 28, 1930 in Ipswich. He grew up in Bexleyheath he finished with 16 years of school and found at the local municipal utilities a job.
In his early years, Ecclestone went to 1958 itself rather less successful auto racing. He was reported to participate in two Formula 1 races in the season 1958: At the Monaco Grand Prix and the Grand Prix of Great Britain. However, it did not qualify for the race both times.
In addition, Ecclestone was the manager and owner of the Connaught team and later the Brabham team. In between, he changed its name for some time as manager of Jochen Rindt. From the early 1970s invested Ecclestone its work force in the professionalization of the formula 1 and marketed worldwide since their racing events on television networks and advertising agencies.
From 1 September 2007 bought Ecclestone and former Renault team boss Flavio Briatore the London football club Queens Park Rangers. The purchase price amounted to 1.5 million euros, also liabilities in the amount of 19.5 million euros was repaid.
Ecclestone was married three times. From his first wife he had a daughter Deborah Ivy. By Deborah comes Ecclestone's first grandson, who now has children, so that Ecclestone 's great-grandfather. Controversies
- In May 2007, Ecclestone caused a scandal when he threatened not to realize the already ausverhandelten new Valencia street circuit, if the conservative Popular Party would not win the upcoming regional elections; this was interpreted as blackmail and political interference.

The Central Council of Jews in Germany called on the Formula 1 teams to boycott Ecclestone. Ecclestone later apologized for his remarks.
- During the process of corruption against a former board member of the BayernLB the Attorney Bernie Ecclestone accused. He is said to have the sentenced in June 2012 to a prison sentence of eight and a half years, a former bank executive Gerhard Gribkowsky paid $ 44 million bribe in order to achieve a sale of BayernLB 's stake in the Formula 1 Holding.
