The Besbre is a river in France, which runs mostly in the department of Allier in the Auvergne region. Only a short piece of it touches also the neighboring Loire department in the Rhône -Alpes. The Besbre rises in the municipality of Lavoine, drained generally north and ends after 106 kilometers in the municipality of Diou as a left tributary of the Loire. Shortly before the mouth passes under the Besbre the Canal in the Loire. From here to the city of Dompierre -sur -Besbre runs parallel to the river, a branch channel, which can be navigated with vessels.
