Le Breuil (Allier)

Le Breuil is a commune with 541 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Allier in the Auvergne region; it belongs to the administrative district in the canton of Vichy and Lapalisse.

Geography

The municipality is located in the western foothills of the Monts de la Madeleine Mountains, about 18 kilometers northeast of Vichy and 25 kilometers north- west of Roanne. Neighboring communities of Le Breuil are:

  • Saint- Prix in the north,
  • Droiturier in the Northeast,
  • Châtelus in the east,
  • Arfeuilles in the southeast
  • Châtel -Montagne in the south,
  • Isserpent in the west and
  • Saint -Christophe in the North West

The town itself is situated on the left bank of the river Besbre, further opening into the less than two kilometers from the right tributary Barbenan.
