Bhilai (Hindi: भिलाई, Bhilai, Bhilai Nagar also Bhilainagar or ) is a town in the district of Durg in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. It has around 625,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). It is located on the Mumbai- Howrah railway line, 40 km from Raipur, the capital Chhattisgarhs and 11 km from Durg removed. The city is part of the agglomeration Durg - Bhilai with approximately one million inhabitants.

Bhilai has one of the largest steel plants of India ( Bhilai Steel Plant ) with more than 50,000 employees. The system operated by the Steel Authority of India work was a Soviet- Indian joint project in 1959 and took its production. It refers iron ore from its own mines south of Bhilai. Many health facilities and schools in the city are operated by the steel plant. Since 1986, there are university training in Bhilai Institute of Technology.

The construction of the Bhilai Steel Plant was developed as a planned city. She is in independent sectors - there are now 16 - structured and organized, each of which is equipped with schools, health center and shopping complex.
