Bill Asprey

William " Bill" Asprey ( born September 11, 1936 in Wolverhampton) is an English football player and coach. Asprey was born in 1936 in Wolverhampton. In his career he played between 1953/54 and 1965 / 66 304 games for Stoke City. With which he, among other things, the Second Division in 1963 and a year later won the League Cup reached the final. Further stations as players were Oldham Athletic and Port Vale. After the trainer training, he started as coach in Southern Rhodesia and the staff of Coventry City. His first "real" head coach stop was Oxford United. Asprey was introduced in July 1979, but was released by Christmas again due to lack of success. Finally, he returned to Stoke City back where he first served as assistant coach Richie Barker and it eventually replaced in 1984. Due to health problems he resigned from his position, however, already after one season down again.
