Bill Colvin

William Colvin ( born December 3, 1934 in Toronto, Ontario, † November 3, 2010 in Huntsville, Ontario ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player.

Career

Bill Colvin began his career as a hockey player in the season 1951/52, in his hometown in the junior team the Toronto St. Michael's Buzzers. He then played three years for the boys team Toronto St. Michael's Majors. In the summer of 1955 he was engaged by the amateur team Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen of the Ontario Hockey Association. With the team he represented Canada at the Olympic Winter Games 1956. For season 1956/57, he joined the professional hockey and signed a contract with the Toledo Mercurys from the International Hockey League. From 1957 to 1959, he spent one season each with the amateur teams CKL 's Kingston and Kingston Merchants in the Ontario Senior Hockey League. In the 1960/61 season the Canadians ran after a year's break from hockey on in three games for the Kingston Frontenacs of the Eastern Professional Hockey League. Most recently, he played in the 1961/62 season for the Alouettes de Rouyn -Noranda in the Northern Ontario Hockey Association. After his hockey career Colvin was an attorney.

Internationally

For Canada Colvin took part in the Winter Olympics 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo, where he won the bronze medal with his team.
