Bill Kenwright

Bill Kenwright CBE ( born September 4, 1945 in Liverpool) is a British theater producer and film producer.

Life and career

Even in school at The Liverpool Institute High School for Boys Kenwright worked as an actor in various groups. His first role was that of Shylock in Shakespeare's comedy The Merchant of Venice in the resident school theater. His first major role as a serial performer had Kenwright as Gordon Clegg in the British soap opera Coronation Street from 1968 until 1969.

Nowadays Kenwright works as a producer at the London West End theater. For theater he produced the pieces Blood Brothers and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Furthermore, the Englishman for the Palace Theatre and Broadway ( songs like Jesus Christ Superstar or This Is Elvis ) produced. Lately, he made attracted attention when he could have it performed as a producer, the musical Cabaret in London again. In 2000, he received a medal for the British Empire for his services to film and theater. In 2004, he became president of the football club Everton FC. Since 2007 is also a basketball club in his possession, the Everton Tigers. Currently Kenwright is in a relationship with British actress Jenny Seagrove.
