Bill Stevenson (musician)

John William " Bill" Stevenson ( born September 10, 1963 in Torrance, California) is an American musician and music producer. He is a drummer and songwriter for the punk band Descendents.

In December 1981, he played a few shows with Black Flag, because their drummer ROBO was detained in England after a tour. After various performances and albums with Black Flag to 1985, he devoted himself again after the Descendents and played with them until Milo Aukerman left the band in 1987 to go to college.

After Milo Aukerman had left the band, Stevenson formed with the rest of the band Descendents ALL, was first replaced by singer Dave Smalley of Dag Nasty at the Aukermann.

The Descendents mid 90s reunited and took since the albums Everythings Sucks (1996) and Cool To Be You ( 2004) on. Since 2003 he is also active in the band Only Crime.

Bill Stevenson now operates the studio O & O Recordings in Fort Collins. Even at the Black flag times Stevenson was involved in the production of some albums. Later, he also worked for other bands such as Rise Against, As I Lay Dying and Good Riddance.
