Billy Campbell
William Oliver Campbell ( * July 7, 1959 in Charlottesville, Virginia ) is an American actor.
Life
When Campbell was two years old, his parents divorced and both still married several times. Through the marriages created a total of six other half-siblings for Bill. By separating the parents Campbell was both on the horse ranch of his mother in Charlottesville and in Chicago with his father, a real estate agent at home.
In Virginia, he attended military school for several years. Following high school, he showed the first creative features, among others by the comic drawing. At an audition in high school he was for a school production ( The Man Who Came To Dinner ) is committed and thus learned for the first time know the plays. Nevertheless, he showed after high school no ambition to establish his acting skills, but mainly focused on rugby and the alcohol.
By his early twenties, however, Campbell decides on a way of life, moves in with his father to Chicago and attended the American Academy of Art in order to become a professional comic book artist. During the training, he attended various acting classes with a friend and did not realize until meanwhile, that the acting was his calling. He traveled to the West Coast to further his acting career and received a small role in the film Family Ties, as well as a guest appearance on the television series Hotel. Campbell is best known for the role of Luke Fuller, Steven Carrington's gay friend in the series Dynasty. In 1986 he was awarded a place in the NBC series Crime Story. But it was only in 1991 saw his career with the Disney film The Rocketeer - The Rocketeer an upswing. After this production, he was seen among others in Bram Stoker's Dracula.
A year later, Campbell launched a Broadway career and was shown, among others on the stage in the play Hamlet. But his stage career was not to last long. Just one year later he would be seen on television again, in the detective series Moon over Miami, which has seen no great success. He played many supporting roles in outlying productions and had held a supporting lead role recently in 2002 on the side of Jennifer Lopez.

The liaison with the U.S. actress Jennifer Connelly, whom he met on the set of The Rocketeer and love has learned kept for 5 years. Previously, he was engaged to actress Virginia Madsen. In 2000, People magazine named him among the 50 most beautiful men in the world.
