Blaby (District)

Blaby is a District in the county of Leicestershire in England. Administrative center is the city of Blaby. Other important towns are Cosby, Countesthorpe, Glenfield, Enderby and Stoney Stanton. Glenfield is the county seat of administration Leicestershire, Leicester since then forms an independent urban district.

From 1894 Blaby was a Rural District of Leicestershire. In 1913, Oadby was separated and collected for a Urban District. 1935 Blaby lost some territory to the city of Leicester, but received a portion of the dissolved Hinckley Rural District.
