Hinckley and Bosworth

Hinckley and Bosworth is an administrative district with the status of a borough in the county of Leicestershire in England. Administrative center is the city of Hinckley, where almost half the population lives. Other important towns are Barwell, Bagworth and Thornton, Barlestone, Burbage, Cadeby, Carlton, Earl Shilton, Groby, Market Bosworth, Markfield, Newbold Verdon, Peckleton, Ratby, Sheepy and Stoke Golding.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Urban District Hinckley and Bosworth Rural District (excluding Ibstock ).
