Blaine Lacher

Blaine Lacher ( born September 5, 1970 in Medicine Hat, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who has played during his active career, among other things for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League.

Career

Blaine Lacher played during his junior period from 1989 to 1990 for the Melville Millionaires in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, where he was in 39 games in goal and a shutout recorded. Then he began to study at the Lake Superior State University and actively played ice hockey in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. His best season with the Lakers he succeeded in the game 1993/94, with six shutouts in 30 games and winning the NCAA Division I championship. By now, almost 24 years old, he signed in June 1994 a contract with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. In the season 1994/95 he came in 35 NHL games for the Bruins used parried 90.2 percent of the shots and made four shutouts. In February 1995 he was elected to the NHL rookie of the month.

In the playoffs, the resignation was followed in the first round against the New Jersey Devils. In the 1995/96 season he was still in twelve NHL games in goal for the Bruins, but after he was sent to the Providence Bruins in the farm team and replaced by Bill Ranford. He also played a few games for the Cleveland Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League. The 1996/97 season spent laugh at the Grand Rapids Griffins, for he stood in eleven games in goal and end of the season ended his active career.
