Blanca Fernández Ochoa

Blanca Fernández Ochoa ( born April 22, 1963 in Madrid ) is a Spanish former alpine skier.

Life

Fernández Ochoa comes from a family of successful skiers. Her brother Francisco was at the Olympic Winter Games in 1972 in Sapporo Olympic champion in slalom.

They even denied her first World Cup race in the season 1980 / 81st The first victory celebrated in March 1985 in the giant slalom at Vail. Overall Fernández Ochoa won four World Cup races in her career ( three slaloms and a giant slalom ), 16 times more she went to the top three.

The biggest success of her career she succeeded in 1992 at the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, when she won the bronze medal in the slalom. This was only the second and so far last Olympic medal for Spain in the alpine competitions.

After the 1991/92 season, she finished her career.
