Geography

Geographical Location

Blaufelden is on the Hohenlohe plain in 320-488 meters altitude. The municipality runs like a belt through the northern district of Schwäbisch Hall, Hohenlohe from the Circle to the Bavarian border.

Community structure

The municipality comprises the main town Blaufelden and the incorporated within the framework of local government reform in the 1970s formerly independent municipalities Billingsbach, Gammesfeld, Mr. Animal Bach, Wiesbach and Witten Weiler ( without upper and lower hamlets which were incorporated by Gerabronn ). Among the various districts include many other spatially separate living spaces, which usually have little inhabitants. Here are:

Neighboring cities and municipalities Blaufeldens are ( clockwise from the west): Mulfingen ( Hohenlohe ), Schrozberg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber (district of Ansbach, Bavaria), Rot am See, Gerabronn and Langenburg. Up to Mulfingen and Rothenburg ob der Tauber all belong to the district of Schwäbisch Hall.

History

Blaufelden was first mentioned in documents in 1157. It originally belonged to the dominion Werdeck the Lords of Hohenlohe and came from this 1371 first at Kraft III. of Hohenlohe- Weikersheim, 1399 then. to the viscount of Nuremberg, it annexing the Principality of Ansbach From 1500 was Blaufelden as part of Ansbach in the Frankish Empire circle. 1806 the place initially fell in the wake of media coverage due to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss conclusion to the Kingdom of Bavaria, but came to the Kingdom of Württemberg four years later. see also Hertenstein Castle, castle Billingsbach

Religions

The Reformation was introduced in Blaufelden 1526. Since then, the place is known Protestant. There are several Protestant churches in the community. Blaufelden is the seat of the church district Blaufelden the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Württemberg. Blazon: On a golden gevierten of silver and black sign foot in a blue ausschreitender, golden -clad farmer with a golden hat and red shoes, from a silver grains Säsack ausstreuend.

Economy and infrastructure

The Farming village participated in the economic development of the 19th century some little, but remained important through its central location, through cattle trade and its markets. Agriculture still plays an important role, there are almost one hundred agricultural to commercial farms.

Traffic

The municipality has a station on the Tauber Valley Railway Crailsheim -Wertheim. From 1900 to 1996 chained in Blaufelden from a branch line to Langenburg, which also had breakpoints in Witten hamlets and in Raboldshausen. The Royal Württemberg State Railways built the station building in Raboldshausen station as a unit of type IIa. Passenger services on the branch line has already been set in 1963.

At the national road network Blaufelden is via the federal highway 290 ( Tauberbischofsheim - Aalen ) attached.

The largest employer in Blaufelden is the Sigloch group distribution services for publishers, commercial and industrial customers operating in the field. At the sites Blaufelden and Horšovský Tyn (Czech Republic) about 540 people are employed, including 60 in Horšovský Tyn. Every day, approximately 200,000 shipments the company. As Sigloch Edition Sigloch also laid himself books on food and drink, nature and landscape.

Raiffeisen Bank Gammesfeld with the CEO as the only employees and about 500 customers were known as Germany's smallest bank with Germany's best interest. The bank branch is the center of a documentary film (gravel as hay) from 2002 about life in Gammesfeld. After a management change was indeed converted to electronic bookings in 2008, but the bank still has only one employee.
