Błędowo, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Błędowo ( German Blandau ) is a village in Poland, in the Warmian -Masurian with about 50 inhabitants. It belongs to the mayor's office in the municipality Mołtajny Barciany.

Geography

Błędowo is located in north-eastern Poland, approximately six kilometers south of the border with Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast. Two kilometers north lies the Jezioro Arklickie ( Arklitter lake).

History

In the 14th century Matthies Scholte received from the German Teutonic Knights Henning Schindekopf 25 hooves country after Kulm law with the obligation for military service with plate armor. In addition to awarding this country was a prussisches village with an area of ​​19 hooves. 1437 the village was mentioned under the name Blandau with three free goods and a total of 11 feet. The next mention of the goods took place in 1552, continued with 25 hooves size. Previously, in 1537, the Old Prussian village had been awarded under the name Blandau to Martin Kanacher. The estate of Scholte is never mentioned after 1552, maybe it's gone up in Arklitten ( Arklity ). In January 1945, the Red Army occupied the area. As a result of the war was as Blandau Błędowo part of Poland. 2010 had 59 inhabitants of the village.

Economy and infrastructure

Błędowo is located on a side road branches off from the road between Czaczek and Kotki. In Kotki the road leads to the voivodeship road 591 ( droga wojewódzka nr 591 ).

The village does not have its own rail connection. The nearest train station is located in about 20 km south-west to Korsze or in the 25 km south Kętrzyn. From there, the PKP offers direct connections to Olsztyn and Poznan.

The geographically nearest international airport is Kaliningrad, about 70 kilometers north-west is located on Russian territory. The nearest international airport on Polish territory is located about 180 kilometers west of Lech Walesa Airport, Gdansk.
