Blessington

Blessington ( Irish: Baile Coimín; German: "City of Coimín ") is a town in County Wicklow on the east of the Republic of Ireland.

Blessington is the largest city in West Wicklow. It lies about 35 km southwest of Dublin on the N81 from Dublin on Tallaght to Tullow on Poulaphouca reservoir, a well as Blessington Lake ( s ) known National Park in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains, which arose when in 1944 the waterfall at Poulaphouca during the Liffey was dammed. Two smaller villages were only relocated and flooded it. The water of the Blessington Lakes is fed into the drinking water supply of the Dublin Region.

Dublin Bus connects with the Blessington Busáras in Dublin.

The population Blessington was determined during Census 2011, 4394 persons, where the population has increased 2000-2011 by around 1890 people. New housing estates are built particularly in the west of the city in the vicinity of the road to Naas. In Blessington is one of the hedge mazes by Adrian Fisher.
