Bloodgood

Bloodgood is an American white- metal band. It was founded in 1985 in Seattle, Washington. The band plays traditional heavy metal with Christian lyrics.

History

The name Bloodgood is the last name of the band founder Michael Bloodgood. The name goes back to his ancestors, who came from Holland and later emigrated to America. The name should be both a symbol of " the good (good ) blood ( blood ), which Jesus shed for us ."

The band was founded in 1985. In the same year the demo Metal Missionaries is included which caught the attention of the Christian rock label Frontline Records. David Mansfield took the band under contract and produced their self-titled debut album. J. T. Taylor was replaced by Mark Welling. In 1987, the commercially successful successor detonation.

A well-known American television preacher spoke just before a major tour publicly against the band. The Tour meant financially almost the end of the formation. Then the recording process began to album Rock in a Hard Place. The album was released in 1988 and was a commercial oriented than its predecessor. However, the sales could not keep up with detonation despite the new sounds. However, a mini tour solidified the status in the scene.

Even before the recording process for the album Out of the Darkness rose from guitarist David Zaffiro, because he wanted to take care of his son and earn his money as a music producer. Paul Jackson played a guitar for the 1989 album. Also the drummer was replaced by Kevin Whisler. The band returned to the harder heavy metal sound.

Two live albums and two live videos followed 1990. 1991 All Stand Together was released. With Paul Roraback was again a new drummer in the band. 1993 returned Mark Welling and the live album To Germany with Love was with him yet started, before the band broke up in 1994. The live album was initially released only in Germany ( Edition: 990 pieces), until 2000, a U.S. version was released with different artwork.

Michael Bloodgood was pastor of the " Calvary Chapel Redmond ," his bandmate Les Carlsen played in a version of the musical Hair with and tried as an art dealer. During this time there were reissues of albums that sold relatively well.

2002 failed to reunite the band. In the meantime, Michael Bloodgood suffering from a blockage of an artery, which almost led to his death. In 2006 he was rehabilitated. His voice, which had been drawn by the necessary operation affected, returned, so that he could sing and preach again. Bloodgood were re-established. As a second guitarist for the famous Oz Fox of Stryper got inside. They played with the new line already scattered festivals, eg at the Cornerstone Festival in California and at the Legends of Rock in Ennepetal, here with the new song Man in the Middle. In 2013, Mark Welling left the band. The place has taken on drums then again Kevin Whisler.

On November 29, 2013 Finally, their latest album Dangerously Close was published. It appeared in the own label "B. Goode Records "and was prodziert by Paul Jackson, assisted by Michael Bloodgood and Les Carlsen.
