Bloodpit

Bloodpit is a rock group founded in 1994 in Tampere, Finland.

History

Matthau Mikoyan and Paavo Pekkonen were 12 years old when in 1994 her band under the name RIP founded. At home, they recorded their first songs. In 1995, under the new band name Turmio the first concert in a bar instead.

In 1998, the band 's name Bloodpit. Janne Kolehmainen came as a bass player for the band. For concerts they were supported by drummer Mato Romppanen until 1999 Arnold T. Kumputie was added as a solid drummer.

In May 2000 the first demo promo EP was finished. Matthaus older brother Christ the band joined as bassist Janne and triggered from. The next demo No. 2 was produced in 2001. First appearances at festivals such as the Satamarock in Toijala followed. 2002 Christ left the band and was replaced by direction Negative paspartou Hagen. In the same year also Hagen and Kumputie left the band and were replaced by Aleksi Keränen and Alarik Valamo.

Published in 2003 Bloodpit the EP You Name it. A recording contract with Grotesque Records failed because the label shortly thereafter stopped operating. Hence Platitude was released in 2004 on their own.

In 2005, the band finally got a contract with the label Beemvees / Play Ground. She recorded her debut album Mental Circus, the August 24, 2005 - announced by several singles - appeared in Finland. Bloodpit played numerous concerts, first in Russia and Italy.

The Finnish youth magazine Suosikki and the radio station Ylex voted Bloodpit 2006 "Newcomer of the Year 2005". The EP sauna päälle! was published in Finland. On 3 November 2006 Mental Circus finally appeared also in Austria and Germany, followed by a partially sold out tour of Italy and Germany.

In late summer 2007, the band canceled all appointments scheduled for the following November tour and announced on their website that they are "in a pause of indefinite duration " go. In this pause, the singer Matthau left the band, which further made ​​in the summer of 2008 without him and with an expanded cast. Matthau was replaced here by the 23 -year-old Antti Ravin at the microphone; for the second guitar was henceforth Petri Hiltunen responsible. 2008 published Bloodpit with EP Recovered her first work in the new cast.
