Blue is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. It was released in June 1971 on the Reprise Records label. In the U.S. Billboard Charts Blue reached number 15 in the UK even 3rd place The album was highly praised by the critics and is now regarded not only as Mitchell's best work, but also as generally recognized classics of popular music. So it reached at the 2003 published by Rolling Stone list of the 500 best albums of all time ranks 30th

Originally, the track list of the album should look a little different than that of the later album. Mitchell had three old songs left that had not yet found the way to one of their albums, which is why she wanted to use for Blue it first. At the last minute, however, she decided to move two of these songs, Urge for Going and Hunter ( The Good Samaritan ), to be replaced by two new, namely, All I Want, and The Last Time I Saw Richard. Only the song Little Green, Mitchell had written in 1967, was allowed to remain.

Rumors that the album and the title song David Blue are dedicated to Joni Mitchell has rejected.

Two tracks on the album were released as singles. In August, Carey appeared with the B-side This Flight Tonight. In the Billboard Hot 100, the song reached place 93 The second single, California, with B- side A Case of You, which was released in October on the market that could reach any chart position.

This Flight Tonight Nazareth was covered by two years later on the album Loud 'n' Proud and successfully released as a single.
