The Blue River is a river in the South Island of New Zealand. Its source is in the Mount Aspiring National Park. It flows approximately 8 km north of Makarora as a right tributary of the Makarora River. The river has two tributaries, the South Branch right, left the North Branch. Up to a path on the lower reaches of the river, the terrain is impassable, the river there are no towns.
