Blue Weaver

Blue Weaver ( Derek John Weaver, born March 11, 1947 Cardiff, Wales ) is a British keyboardist, songwriter and music producer.

He was a founding member of Amen Corner and Fairweather. He replaced Rick Wakeman in Strawbs when he went to Yes. After he left the Strawbs in 1973, he then played for a while with Mott the Hoople ( U.S. tour with Queen as the opening act ) at the Streetwalkers. After that, he worked mainly as a studio musician, in addition to Mott the Hoople for the Pet Shop Boys, but especially with the Bee Gees, which he played from 1975 to 1980 and during live performances. He composed the soundtrack for the movie "Times Square - can you tell us all the time " with Tim Curry and Trini Alvarado.

Currently (2009) he is a director and member of The Music Producers Guild.
