Boban Marković

Boban Marković ( Бобан Марковић ) is a Serbian trumpet player and flugelhorn player and together with his son Marko Markovic Head of brass music group Boban i Marko Markovic Orkestar. He is regarded as the leading musicians of his genre, the brass bands often as Balkan Brass designated the Balkans, and helped this music also achieved international acclaim.

The Roma family Marković is a traditional family of musicians in Serbia. Boban Marković was in Serbia as a multiple winner of the "Golden Trumpet" Trumpet Festival in Guca at one of the largest folk music festivals in the world, popular, where he takes only his fifth win out of competition since 2001. Outside the Boban Marković Orkestar Serbia was mainly known for his appearances in the movie Underground by Emir Kusturica. With "Competition" and " Guca " the group also played a major role in two documentaries. In recent years, Marković was referring more international influences in his music, and collaborated with international musicians such as the Austrian group Attwenger and the Klezmer Band Di Shikere Kapelye.

In 2002 he began his son Marko gradually to transfer the management of the group, which was officially renamed in 2004, Boban i Marko Markovic Orkestar.
