Bobby Campbell (English footballer)

Robert J "Bobby" Campbell ( born April 23 1937 in Liverpool ) is an English former football player and football coach.

Career

Playing career

Campbell began his career at Liverpool, where he became a professional in 1958. After a few good games in the dress of the Reds, he was even drafted into the England youth team. After 24 games in Liverpool he moved to Portsmouth, where he worked from 1961 to 1966. His last station player before his career was over FC Aldershot, where he remained for a year.

Coaching career

After his playing career, he held various jobs as a coach assistant coach, for example, at Portsmouth, Queens Park Rangers, Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday. Campbell's first job as a head coach was at Fulham FC 1976-1980. From 1982 to 1984 he was head coach at FC Portsmouth. And from 1988 to 1991 coach at Chelsea, after many years was assistant coach for the Blues. After his release in London Campbell coached a few clubs in the Middle East.
