The Bode is a 20 km long river in the counties of calibration field and Nordhausen in Thuringia.
Course
The source area is in the south of Ohmgebirge Holungen between the Black Mountain ( 491.4 m ) in the north, the Ochsenberg ( 514.6 m) in the southeast and the Bornberg ( 523.7 m) in the southwest. The main source is located at the former forestry house Seegel, from there it flows through initially in a northerly direction Holungen and continues in a southeasterly direction successively the places Bischofferode, Großbodungen, Kleinbodungen and Lipprechterode, then joins in Bleicherode in the Wipper.
The catchment area of the Bode 105 km ². The long-term average discharge is above 0.8 m³ / s
Salinization
The lower reaches of the Bode is lightly loaded by production wastewater of the potash industry. These effluents are introduced into Bleicherode -east.
